Discover encoders for the full spectrum of robotics and automation. Solutions from HEIDENHAIN, AMO, RENCO und RSF encompass dual and secondary encoders for advanced robotics, including secondary encoders that, along with greater accuracy on robots and cobots, enable collision monitoring without additional torque sensors. We also offer inductive rotary encoders with added functionality, such as the ECI 1323 Splus and EQI 1335 Splus, which deliver built-in vibration analysis along with position feedback.

The HEIDENHAIN StateMonitor software gives users insight into how much energy their machines are consuming. The enhanced energy monitoring function delivers consumption data for power, process water and compressed air, allowing users to identify energy guzzlers and reduce consumption costs. Meanwhile, StateMonitor’s job data interface ensures data consistency across different systems, making important shopfloor data available to higher-level ERP and MES platforms.

Thanks to TRUE IMAGE TECHNOLOGY, the Series 6 LC linear encoders and Series 1 RCN angle encoders from HEIDENHAIN maintain a clear image of their scales, even in machine tools with condensation and other liquid contamination. A special light-guiding element eliminates optical distortions, allowing these encoders to reliably deliver high-accuracy position feedback, in many cases without purge air. The results are lower system costs and an up to 99% smaller carbon footprint.

Chiplet technology and new mid-end-of-line processes in semiconductor manufacturing have laid the groundwork for artificial intelligence, humanoid robots and self-driving vehicles. Advances in production miniaturization have downscaled the distance between electrical contacts to 2 microns, thus reaching a key milestone. But even smaller structures are attainable at greater throughput with the HEIDENHAIN encoders and ETEL motion systems being showcased at SEMICON West 2024.

The HEIDENHAIN VT 122 measuring camera and VTC software are a single intelligent system with the threefold functionality of a tool presetter, tool microscope and visual inspection aid. Take accurate images of the tool’s edge while it is inside the machine envelope. Automatically measure tool length and diameter. Then visually inspect the tool and measure its wear on the screen of your control or PC. The benefits are time savings, higher machining accuracy, reduced scrap and less rework.
